Trong Part 3 của IELTS SPEAKING, câu hỏi dạng Prediction Questions cực dễ “lừa tình” thí sinh nhưng cũng là dạng cực dễ ăn điểm nếu bạn nhanh chóng nhận diện ra chúng và “tô điểm” cho câu trả lời bằng những cấu trúc dưới đây . Tuy nhiên, để giành điểm cao, câu trả lời của bạn phải có ý tưởng rõ ràng, cộng với ngữ pháp tốt và sự trôi chảy cũng như dùng từ linh hoạt.
Trước hết cùng xem qua ví dụ dưới đây:
Example: “What will houses be like in the future?”
Tại sao examiner lại hỏi candidate câu trên? Rất đơn giản, mục đích của loại câu về tương lai thử thách thí sinh ở khả năng sử dụng các cấu trúc dự đoán.
Sau đây là một cách trả lời thường gặp:
“I think that in the future, houses will be much bigger, and maybe they will be in some strange places such as on the moon or under the sea.”
Câu trên trả lời trực tiếp câu hỏi với một số dự đoán. Nhưng vấn đề là ngôn ngữ quá đơn giản!
Hãy phân tích câu trả lời sau:
“Certainly, I’m sure that most people would agree that there will be a number of major changes related to this. Initially, I guess that we might begin to see houses that are much bigger. At the same time, I suppose it’s quite probable that we may have houses under
the sea. And who knows, it could even be possible that we’ll see the arrival of houses on the moon.”
Nội dung không mấy khác biệt mà ngôn ngữ ‘cao siêu’ hơn nhiều, với mỗi dự đoán được đưa ra bởi một cấu trúc khác nhau.
…I guess that we might begin to see…
…I suppose it’s quite probable that we may have…
…who knows, it could even be possible that we’ll see…

2. Giới thiệu dự đoán đầu tiên
- Initially, I guess that we might begin to see…
- To begin with, I’d predict that we will most likely have…
- Primarily, it looks quite probable that we are going to have…
- First of all, I would envisage that we are going to have…
Hãy cố gắng phát triển ý với thì tương lai đơn và các từ nối đơn giản.
“Initially, I guess that we might begin to see houses that are made of plastic materials because these will be much cheaper and easier to construct.”
3. Dự đoán thứ hai
- At the same time, I suppose it’s quite probable that we may have…
- As well as this, some people claim that we will probably start to see…
- On top of this, I imagine it’s quite likely that we will soon have…
- Likewise, I would imagine that we may even be able to see…
Mở rộng câu như ở bước 2 ta sẽ có được câu tương tự:
“At the same time, I suppose quite probable that we may have houses that are controlled by computer because this will make home life much easier.”
4. Dự đoán thứ ba
Để thêm phần thú vị cho câu trả lời, dự đoán này có thể cực kì bất khả thi so với hai ý trên.
- And who knows, it could even be possible that see the arrival of…
- And you never know, it could even transpire that we’ll have…
- And I know a bit of a crazy thought, but one day we may even have…
- And who knows, there’s even a chance that we will have…
Số lượng ý cho câu trả lời có thể là 2 hoặc 3, tùy theo những ý tưởng mà bạn có, và khả năng phát triển câu. Hãy lựa chọn cách phù hợp với mình để câu trả lời ở độ dài lý tưởng
