1. Humble (a) /ˈhʌm.bəl/: not proud or not believing that you are important - khiêm tốn
Example: In my humble opinion (= I want to emphasize that I think that) we should never have bought the car in the first place.
2. Modest (a) /ˈmɒd.ɪst/: modest adjective (QUIETLY SUCCESSFUL) = not usually talking about or making obvious your own abilities and achievements
Example: He’s very modest about his achievements.
3. Self-deprecating (a) /ˌselfˈdep.rə.keɪ.tɪŋ/: trying to make yourself, your abilities, or your achievements seem less important
Example: a self-deprecating manner/self-deprecating humour.
4. Eat humble pie = to admit that you were wrong: phải xin lỗi, phải nhận lỗi
Example: After boasting that his company could outperform the industry's best, he's been forced to eat humble pie.
5. In my humble opinion : đây là câu nói thể hiện quan điểm của cá nhân 1 cách lịch sự nhất, vì nó cho thấy sự khiêm tốn của người nói.
Example: In my humble opinion, he’s making a big mistake.
