Đa phần chúng mình mới chỉ biết đến các từ như CLEAN, WASH hay CLEAR, tuy nhiên trong các hoạt động hàng ngày chúng mình còn có thêm rất nhiều các động từ miêu tả hành động dọn dẹp các vật dụng trong nhà như TIDY, SCOUR.. mà nhiều bạn còn chưa nắm được. Đặc biệt dịp Tết đã sắp đến chúng mình càng cần nắm được các vocab này còn tăng khả năng nói tiếng Anh thực tết ngày 1 tốt.
 
1. Wipe (v) /waɪp/: to slide something, especially a piece of cloth, over the surface of something else, in order to remove dirt, food, or liquid:
Example: Do you have some paper towels that I can wipe the floor with?
 
 
2. Clear (v) /klɪər/: to remove or get rid of whatever is blocking or filling something, or to stop being blocked or full: làm sạch
Example: I’ll make the coffee if you'll clear the table.
 
 
3. Sweep (v) /swiːp/: to clean something, especially a floor by using a brush to collect the dirt into one place from which it can be removed: quét 
Example: sweep the floor
 
 
4. Wash (v) /wɒʃ/: to clean something using water: giặt/rửa 
Example: wash the car/clothes/floor
 
 
5. Hang (v) /hæŋ/: to fasten or support something at the top leaving the other parts free to move, or to be held in this way: treo…
Example: Hang your coat and hat (up) on the rack over there.
 
 
6. Hoover (v) /ˈhuː.vər/: to use a vacuum cleaner (= a machine that sucks up dust and dirt) to clean floors and other surfaces: hút bụi 
Example: He was busy hoovering the bedroom carpet when I got home.
 
 
7. Tidy (v) /ˈtaɪ.di/: to make a place or a collection of things tidy: dọn dẹp 
Example: Tidy (up) these papers before you leave, please.
 
 
8. Mop (v) /mɒp/: to use a mop to wash something: lau 
Example: He mopped the bathroom floor.
 
 
9. Polish (v) /ˈpɒl.ɪʃ/: to rub something using a piece of cloth or brush to clean it and make it shine: đánh máy
Example: to polish the furniture
 
 
10. Scrub (v) /skrʌb/: to rub something hard in order to clean it, especially using a stiff brush, soap, and water: lau, chùi, cọ
Example: She scrubbed (at) the mark on the wall for a long time, but it wouldn't come off.
 
 
11. Scour (v) /skaʊər/: to remove dirt from something by rubbing it hard with something rough: lau, cọ 
Example: You’ll have to scour out those old cooking pots before you use them.
 
 
12. Dust (v) /dʌst/: to use a cloth to remove dust from the surface of something: quét/lau bụi
Example: I was dusting the mantelpiece when I noticed a crack.
