Vocabulary highlights:
1. Fluctuate (v) /ˈflʌk.tʃu.eɪt/: to change or vary frequently between one level or thing and another - dao động
Example: I fluctuate between feeling really happy and utterly miserable.
2. Cringe (v) /krɪndʒ/: to feel very embarrassed - cực kì xấu hổ
Example: I cringed at the sight of my dad dancing.
3. Puberty (n) /ˈpjuː.bə.ti/: the stage in people's lives when they develop from a child into an adult because of changes in their body that make them able to have children: tuổi dậy thì
Example: At puberty, pubic hair develops and girls begin to menstruate.
4. Eloquent (a) /ˈə.kwənt/: giving a clear, strong message - hoạt ngôn, hùng hồn
Example: She made an eloquent appeal for action.
5. Crack (sb) up (phrasal verb) /kræk/: to suddenly laugh a lot, or to make someone suddenly laugh a lot - khiến ai đó cười rất nhiều
Example: There's something about that guy's face that just cracks me up.
6. Mumble (v) /ˈmʌm.bəl/: to speak quietly and in a way that is not clear so that the words are difficult to understand - lẩm bẩm
Example: She mumbled something about being too busy.
7. Off the cuff : if you speak off the cuff, you say something without having prepared or thought about your words first - tuỳ cơ ứng biến
Example: I hadn't prepared a speech so I just said a few words off the cuff.
8. Music to your ears : something you are pleased to hear about - là điều mà bạn muốn nghe
Example: When she said they would make a profit, it was music to Richard’s ears.
9. Squeaky (a) /ˈskwiː.ki/: making a very high sound - giọng cao vót
10.Nasal (a) /ˈneɪ.zəl/: If a person's voice is nasal, it has a particular sound because air is going through their nose when they speak - giọng mũi
Example: She spoke in nasal tones.
