Đón chào tuần mới cùng BEC với topic Swimming của Part 1 nhed các mem . Mục tiêu IELTS 8.0 không còn xa nữa đúng không
Can you swim?
Unfortunately, I can’t. The primary reason is back then I was a child, my family was struggling financially (or: struggling to put food on the table), so swimming was perceived to be extravagant pastime. Secondly, it’s also not taught at a young age in Vietnam, I suppose. But, hopefully, I will be able to swim as well as a professional one day.
Is swimming very popular in your country?
No, as I briefly mentioned before, swimming is not a part of our culture and unlike other countries, it is not drilled into us at a young age. However, slowly but surely, it is starting to change. As the wealth of our nation grows, we now have more leisure time for outdoor pursuits, especially swimming.
Are there many places to swimnear you?
Yes, there are very few affordable facilities in my neck of the woods (or: in my neighborhood / in my district). Actually, there’s a decent swimming pool, named “Four Seasons” which lives up to its name as a place where you can swim all year round. Alternatively, there are some fancy pools which you can find at luxury hotels but they will but you will have to pay an extortionate rate. (or but they will cost a small fortune).
Why do many people like swimming? What are the benefits of swimming?
Well, most obviously, swimming is a great way to cool you down on a scorching summer day. Additionally, it’s a perfect sport for overall good health, especially in terms of cardiovascular endurance. It’s also an effective way of toning muscles without injuring your joints. On top of everything else (or: On top of that), it makes you feel as fresh as daisy especially after an exhausting day. (or: it uplifts your mood / it helps you to be in high spirits).
