1. (As) free as a bird = completely free to do as you want: Rất tự do tự tại và hạnh phúc.

Example: My mind is absolutely clear: clear and free as a bird. 

 

 

2. "Birds of a feather flock together"  = people who are similar in character: ngưu tầm ngưu, mã tầm mã"

Example: He’ll like Tony - they're birds of a feather.

 

 

3. Early bird (n) /ˈɜː.li ˌbɜːd/: a person who gets up or arrives early: người dạy sớm

Example: I've always been an early bird.

 

 

4. The early bird catches the worm = said to advise someone that they will have an advantage if they do something immediately or before anyone else does it: nếu bạn là người đến sớm hay đến trước thì bạn sẽ có cơ may thành công.

Example: She got the position because the early bird catches the worm.

 

 

5. A bird in the hand (is worth two in the bush) = said when you recognize that you should not risk losing something you already have by trying to get something you think might be better: bạn nên bằng lòng và trân trọng những gì mình đang có, không nên tham lam hay chấp nhận rủi ro để chạy theo những thứ có vẻ hào nhoáng hơn nhưng cơ hội có được chúng lại không chắc chắn 

Example: it's a bird in the hand and you should not give it up till you can find a better one.

 

 

6. Bird's-eye view (n) /ˈbɜrdˌzɑɪ ˈvju/: the ability to look at something from a very high place so that you see a large area below you: cái nhìn toàn cảnh (đẹp)..

Example: From the top of this building, you can get a bird’s-eye view of the city.

 

 

7. A little bird told me = said if you know who gave you the information being discussed but do not want to say who it was: Ai đó bí mật nói với tôi.

Example: I heard you were accepted to Harvard, a little bird told me!

 

 

 

8. Kill two birds with one stone = to succeed in achieving two things in a single action: 1 mũi tên trúng 2 đích

Example: I killed two birds with one stone and picked the kids up on the way to the supermarket.

 

9. Swan Song = A piece of work or presentation by an artist can be called his or her swan song if it is the last he or she made before death or retirement: Bài hát thiên nga là một cụm từ ẩn dụ cho một cử chỉ, nỗ lực hoặc hiệu suất cuối cùng được đưa ra ngay trước khi chết hoặc nghỉ hưu.

Example: Her swan song is her award-winning movie portrayal of a legendary queen. After the movie was shown, she retired as an actress.

 

10. Night owl (n) /ˈnaɪt ˌaʊl/: a person who prefers to be awake and active at night: cú đêm (người hay thức khuya)

Example: She is a night owl. She gets more things done late at night.
