1. Compliment sb on (v) /ˈkɒm.plɪ.mənt/: to praise or express admiratio
Example: I was just complimenting Robert on his wonderful food.
2. Think highly of sb = to admire or say admiring things about someone: ca ngợi ai Ä‘ó
Example: He’s very highly thought of within the company.
3. Speak well/highly of.. Ä‘ánh giá cao/ ngưỡng má»™ ai…
Example: May parents always used to speak well/highly of that journalist.
4. Think the world of sb: rất quý trá»ng ai Ä‘ó
Example: Your boss thinks the world of you.
5. Sing (someone's or something's) praises = To speak very highly of
Example: He’s always singing your praises to me.
6. I have nothing but praise for…: tôi hoàn toàn tán dÆ°Æ¡ng cho…
Example: I have nothing but praise for this production of Dogs.
7. A pat on the back = praise: ca ngợi, tán dÆ°Æ¡ng…
Example: You deserve a pat on the back for such excellent marks.
8. Take your hat off to sb = If you say that you take your hat off to someone, you mean that you admire them for an achievement: kính trá»ng, ngưỡng má»™ ai…
Example: Well, I always take my hat off to James.
9. Look up to sb— /lÊŠk/: to admire and respect someone: tôn trá»ng, ngưỡng má»™ ai…
Example: He’d always looked up to his uncle.
10. Find favor with someone = to win the praise of someone: ca ngợi ai Ä‘ó
Example: Mary found favor
11. Butter sb up — /ˈbÊŒt.É™r/: to be very kind or friendly to someone or try to please someone, so that that person will do what you want them to do: tán dÆ°Æ¡ng ai Ä‘ó…
Example: You’ll have to butter them up a bit before they'll agree.
12. Hand it to (someone) = To give credit or recognition to someone for something they have done: ca ngợi hết sức ai Ä‘ó…
Example: Still, you have to hand it to Jenny—she sure knows how to throw a party.

Example: I hope you will give your blessing to the plan.

Example: I am sure they will also win a lot of praise for their original and exciting costumes.

Example: It was a nice feeling when Dana waxed lyrical about the dinner I made, describing it as "sublimely scrumptious.”
