Các idioms bên dưới mà IELTS Trangbec liệt kê cực kỳ hữu ích, thông dụng và dễ nhớ. Nhiều bạn vẫn hay dùng GOOD MORNING nhưng cách nói thông dụng nhiêu hơn được dùng chính là RISE AND SHINE (hãy tỉnh dạy thôi nào, kiểu chào ngày mới nhiều niềm vui), hay COOPED UP (kiểu ru rú trong nhà chẳng hạn). Việc sử dụng các idioms (thành ngữ) đúng văn cảnh sẽ giúp bạn chiếm được thiện cảm giám thị và đạt được band điếm speaking cao nhất.
1. Rise and shine! = said to tell someone to wake up and get out of bed: hãy tỉnh dạy thôi nào
Example: Wakey wakey, rise and shine!
2. Have/grab a bite (to eat) = have/get some food: ăn nhanh cái gì đó
Example: You’ll feel better once you've had a bite to eat.
3. Put the kettle on = to start to boil water in a kettle: đun nước để pha trà
Example: I'll put the kettle on and make us some tea.
4. Take a nap = To sleep for a short period
Example: I haven't taken naps since I
5. Freshen up — /ˈfreʃ·ən/: to do something to make yourself cleaner or neater, es
Example: Velma disappeared into the ladies' lounge, saying that she needed to freshen up before supper.
6. Soak up the sun/sunshine — /soʊk/: to absorb or enjoy the sunshine: tận hưởng ánh nắng
Example: I just want to lie on the beach and soak up the sun.
7. Crash out — /kræʃ/: to go to sleep very quickly because you are very tired: Ngủ thiếp nhanh khi bạn quá mệt, say..
Example: I just want to go home and crash out.
8. Cooped up (a) /ˌkuːpt ˈʌp/: If you are cooped up somewhere, you are in a small closed space from which you cannot escape, or you feel as if you are: cuộn tròn, ru rú trong nhà
Example: I hate being cooped up inside working when its a sunn
9. Put your feet up = to relax, especially by sittin
Example: You go home and put your feet up.
