Topic Gender quality là topic cực phổ biến xuất hiện trong các kỳ thi IELTS vô cùng nhiều, đặc biệt IELTS Writing. Gần đây nhất ngày 17/4/2021, topic hóc búa này lại tiếp tục xuất hiện lại. 1. Gender Equality/ Gender Equity: bình đẳng giới tính
Example: She was also a feminist and felt strongly for gender equality.
2. Feminism (n) /ˈfem.ɪ.nɪ.zəm/: the belief that women should be allowed the same rights, power, and opportunities as men and be treated in the same way, or the set of activities intended to achi eve this state: chủ nghĩa nữ quyền/ phong trào đòi quyền lợi cho phụ nữ
Example: She had a lifelong commitment to feminism.
3. Egalitarian (a) /ɪˌɡæl.ɪˈteə.ri.ən/: believing that all people are equally importa nt and should have the same rights and opportunities in life: chủ nghĩa bình đẳng
Example: an egalitarian society
4. Egalitarianism (n) /ɪˌɡæl.ɪˈteə.ri.ən.ɪ.zəm/ : the belief in or practising of egalitarian p rinciples (= the idea that all people should have the same rights and opportunities) : Chủ nghĩa quân bình
Example: She has long loved the egalitarianism of life at sea.
5. Male-dominated (a): a male-dominated society, organi zation, or area of activity is one in which men have most of the power and influence: nam giới chiếm đa số.
Example: Most major companies are male-dominated.
6. Glass ceiling (n) /ˌɡlɑːs ˈsiː.lɪŋ/: a point after which you cannot go any further, usually in improving your position at work: Rào cản vô hình là phép nói ẩn dụ về những rào cản được tạo ra để ngăn cản phụ nữ được thăng tiến lên các vị trí ...
Example: Various reasons are given for the apparent glass ceiling women hit in many professions.
7. Male chauvinist (n) /ˌmeɪl ˈʃəʊ.vɪ.nɪst/: a man who believes that women are naturally less important, intelligent, or able than men, and so does not treat men and women equally: Người theo thuyết chủ trương tính ưu việt của nam giới (so với nữ giới)
Example: She called him a male chauvinist pig.
8. Male counterparts: đồng nghiệp nam
Example: In 1970, a woman of 60 could expect to live six years longer than her male counterpart.
9. Stereotype (n) /ˈster.i.ə.taɪp/: a set idea that people have about what someone or something is like, especially an idea that is wrong: khuôn mẫu (định kiến)
Example: racial/sexual stereotypes
10. Sex discrimination (noun) = Sexism = treatment of men and women differently, especially unfair treatment of women: Phân biệt giới tính
Example:The law bars sex discr imination in educational progr ams.
11. Equality (n) /iˈkwɒl.ə.ti/: the right of different groups of people to have a similar social position and receive the same treatment: quyền bình đẳng
Example: equality between the sexes
12. Child-rearing (n) /ˈtʃaɪldˌrɪə.rɪŋ/: the work of taking care of children until they are old enough to take care of themselves: sự nuôi dạy trẻ
Example: Why shouldn't a woman have a job after years of child-rearing?
13. Sex object (n) /ˈseks ˌɒb.dʒɪkt/: If you consider someone to be, or you treat someone like a sex object, you are only interested in them sexually, and not as a person: đối tượng tình dục.
Example: She wanted to be regarded as more than just a sex object.
14. Discriminate (v) /dɪˈskrɪm.ɪ.neɪt/: to treat a person or particula r group of people differently, especially in a worse way from the way in which you treat other people, because of their skin colour, sex, sex uality, etc.:
Example: She felt she had been discriminated against because of her age.
15. Breadwinner (n) /ˈbredˌwɪn.ər/: the member of a family who earns the money that the family needs: trụ cột gia đình
Example: Men are often expected to be the breadwinner in a family.
