Topic gần đây IELTS hỏi khá nhiều về topic BUILDINGS, nay chúng mình tiếp tục học cách mô tả BUILDINGS và làm đa dạng khả năng ngôn ngữ hơn nhiều qua nhóm từ vựng được chắt lọc bên dưới nhé
1. New-build (a) /ˈnjuːˌbɪld/: (of a house or other building) built recently
Example: Many new-build flats stand empty.
2. Newly-built (a) mới được xây
Example: Across the river lies a newly-built steel bridge.
3. Modern architecture: kiến trúc hiện đại
Example: Twenty years ago, modern architecture was much maligned.
4. Modern architecture homes: nhà kiến trúc hiện đại
Example: There’s a great deal of extraordinarily-designed house
5. Contemporary architecture: kiến trúc đương đại
Example: For many, the very idea of contemporary architecture is unfamiliar. ·
6. Skyscraper (n) /ˈskaɪˌskreɪ.pər/: a very tall modern building, usually in a city: toà nhà chọc trời
Example: The skyscraper rears high into the sky.
7. High-rise (n) /ˈhaɪ.raɪz/: a tall modern building with many floors: cao tầng
Example: She lives in a high-rise overlooking the rive
8. Multistorey (a) /ˌmʌl.tiˈstɔː.ri/: A multistorey building has several floors: nhiều tầng
Example: a multistorey hotel
9. Superstructure (n) /ˈsuː.pəˌstrʌk.tʃər/: (of a building) the part above the ground: phần ở trên (của một tòa nhà)
Example: The foundations are finished
10. Tower block (n) /ˈtaʊə ˌblɒk/: a tall building divided into a
Example: She lives in a tower block on an estate in London.
11. Apartment building (n) /əˈpɑːt.mənt ˌbɪl.dɪŋ/ = block of flats = a large building that is divided into apartments: toà nhà căn hộ
Example: We lived in an apartment building for several years before buying a house.
