Topic mới nhất của quý 2/2020 đang có topic hỏi về “Describe a noisy place you have been to” (hãy tả 1 nơi ồn ào mà bạn đã từng đến). Với topic này bạn sẽ phải dùng các từ tả đến SOUND (âm thanh) rất là nhiều, và miêu tả địa điểm đó ồn ào đến mức độ như thế nào, vậy nên content bên dưới sẽ giúp cho các bạn có thêm vốn từ vựng cực phong phú để tả được topic này hay nhất.
1. Deafening noise: tiếng ồn inh tai
Example: The music was deafening.
2. Background noise: tiếng ồn hậu cảnh
Example: When you work in a big office, you get used to constant background noise.
3. Excessive noise: tiếng ồn quá nhiều
Example: People who make excessive noise after 10pm are very antisocial.
4. An excessive amount of noise: lượng tiếng ồn quá nhiều
Example: I can’t stand an excessive amount of noise in Ta Hien Street.
5. Ear-splitting (a) /ˈɪəˌsplɪt.ɪŋ/ = ear-piercing: an ear-splitting sound is so loud or high that it hurts your ears - inh ỏi, chói tai
Example: ear-piercing screams from local street performance.
6. Loud (a, adv) /laʊd/: making a lot of noise: ầm ĩ, inh ỏi
Example: I heard a loud bang and then saw black smoke.
7. A loud explosion: một tiếng nổ lớn
Example: Yes, I was woken by what sounded like a loud explosion.
8. Booming (a) /ˈbuː.mɪŋ/: making a deep and loud hollow sound - tiếng oang oang, đùng đùng
Example: Ta Hien street is booming with noise from the excessive amount of pedestrians.
9. Roaring (a) /ˈrɔː.rɪŋ/: loud and powerful - tiếng ầm ầm
Example: The sound of vehicles is roaring through the streets which create a deafening noise.
10. Reverberate (v) /rɪˈvɜː.bər.eɪt/ - If a loud, deep sound reverberates, it continues to be heard around an area, so that the area seems to shake - dội lại, vang lại
Example: The narrow street reverberated with/to the sound of the workmen's drills.
Example: The combination of music travelling from local bar reverberate throughout the streets.
11. Blare (out) (v) /bleər/: to make an unpleasantly loud noise
Example: The radio was blaring (out) martial music.
12. A rumble of thunder: một tiếng đùng đùng
Example: Yes, I thought I heard a rumble of thunder in the distance.
13. Thunderous (a) /ˈθʌn.dər.əs/: extremely loud - vang như sấm
Example: thunderous applause
