Từ OPTION - sự lựa chọn là từ vựng level A phổ biến và thông dụng, nhiều bạn vẫn chưa biết SOFT OPTION là gì. Vì thế chúng mình quyết định soạn hẳn 1 content riêng cho topic này để các bạn học được vocab ngày 1 chắc hơn!
1. Soft option (n) /ˌsɒft ˈɒp.ʃən/: the easiestof two or more possiblechoices: phương phán dễ dàng
Example: The soft option is simply to say nothing for the moment.
2. Easy option (n) /ˌiː.zi ˈɒp.ʃən/: a decisionor choicethat is easy to make: chọn phương án dễ
Example: We’ll have to make some tough decisions - there are no easy options.
3. Keep your options open = leave your options open = to waitbefore making a choice: để các sự lựa chọn mở
Example: I haven’t signed a contract – I’m leaving my options open.
4. Have no option (but to do something)= to have to do a particularthing because there is no possibility of doing anything else: không còn sự lựa chọn nào khác
Example: After her appalling behaviour, we had no option but to dismiss her.
5. Weigh up options /weɪ/: to thinkcarefully about the advantages or disadvantages of a situation before making a decision: cân nhắc các sự lựa chọn
Example: I’m weighing up my options before I decide to apply for the job.
6. Consider your options: cân nhắc các sự lựa chọn
Example: I’m considering different options before moving out.
