Từ paper ở level A là 1 từ cực cơ bản nhưng có đi kèm với cực nhiều các cụm hay thú vị khác như paper-based test (bài thi trên giấy) và vô vàn các cụm hay khác.
1. Paper-based (a): used to describe a system that keeps information on paper, rather than on a computer: trên giấy
Example: In the paper-based IELTS test, the writing, reading, and listening tests are all completed on the same day.
2. A piece of paper = a sheet of paper: 1 tờ giấy
Example: Write it down on a piece of paper.
3. On paper = judging something by how it has been planned rather than how it really works in practice: trên giấy tờ
Example: The design certainly looks good on paper.
4. Paper qualifications: giấy chứng nhận
Example: I’ve got a lot of experience in accounts, but i haven’t got any paper qualifications.
5. Paperwork (n) /ˈpeɪ.pə.wɜːk/: the written records connected with a particular job, deal, trip, etc.: công việc giấy tờ
Example: I’ve kept all the paperwork for the car.
6. Paper money (n) /ˌpeɪ.pə ˈmʌn.i/: money in paper form, rather than coins: tiền giấy
7. Put (something) (down) on paper = to write or print something on physical paper: viết/in ra
Example: You should try to put your ideas on paper as they occur to you, or else you probably won't remember later.
8. Paper over the cracks = to hide problems: che giấu vấn đề
Example: We can't just paper over the cracks.
9. Paper knife (n) /ˈpeɪ.pə ˌnaɪf/: (us letter opener): a knife for opening envelopes that is not sharp and is often decorative: dao dọc giấy
