Topic PLACE - là 1 trong những topic lớn luôn được hỏi rất nhiều trong các cue card part 2 của bài thi nói IELTS Speaking, vậy nên việc học các collocations đi với PLACE là bắt buộc bạn phải nắm được.
1. A place of great historical interest: di tích lịch sử vĩ đại
Example: Stonehenge is a place of great historical interest.
2. A place of worship: nơi thờ cúng
Example: A place of worship is a building used for religious services, such as a church, temple or mosque.
3. Place of birth: nơi sinh
Example: Migrating birds return every year to their place of birth to lay their eggs.
4. A place of safety: nơi an toàn
Example: The hostel for battered wives offers a place of safety and refuge for women who are assaulted by men.
5. Place of work (= workplace): chỗ làm
Example: In an emergency the hospital may need to contact you at your place of work.
6. All over the place: lung tung mọi nơi
Example: There was rubbish all over the place.
7. Place of mine: chỗ ở của tôi
Example: Shall we go back to your place of mine?
8. In the right place: đúng chỗ (nơi)
Example I was very lucky to get this job. I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.
9. Every conceivable place: mọi chỗ có thể tưởng tượng được
Example: I’ve looked in every conceivable place for my wallet, but I can’t find it anywhere.
10. In a safe place: ở nơi an toàn
Example: Remember to put your passport in a safe place.
11. A decent place: 1 nơi tốt
Example: Is there a decent place to eat around here?
12. Uninviting place: nơi không hấp dẫn
Example: The hotel was cold, empty and damp. It was the most uninviting place!
