Chủ đề CAKES/ DESSERTS hay BAKING đều là những chủ đề mới trong bài thi nói IELTS SPeaking 2020 năm nay. Để nói được tốt chủ đề này chúng mình hãy đảm bảo phải nằm lòng được tên các loại bánh phổ biến, cũng như những bánh truyền thống của người Anh như VICTORIA SPONGE CAKE hay SCONE nhé
1. Soufflé (n) /ˈsuː.fleɪ/: a light food that has a lot of air in it, is made mainly from eggs, and can be either sweet or savoury: Bánh trứng phồng
Example: a cheese soufflé/ a lemon soufflé
2. An apple crumble = a dessert of baked chopped apples topped with rolled oats and brown sugar: bánh nướng táo
3. Scone (n) /skɒn/: a small, round cake that is like bread, made from flour, milk, and a little fat - Bánh Scone
Example: tea and buttered scones
4. Victoria Sponge Cake: a two-layer sponge-like airy cake that is filled with a layer of jam and whipped cream. Victoria Sponge Cake is considered the quintessential English teatime treat.
5. Coffee and walnut cake = a cake made with a normal sponge cake recipe with the addition of coffee, usually either instant coffee or Camp Coffee, and walnut pieces. Generally, it is round and has a coffee flavoured butter icing in between two pastry layers.
6. Hot cross bun (n) /ˌhɒt krɒs ˈbʌn/: a round, sweet cake like bread with a cross painted on the top, eaten in some Christian countries at Easter: Bánh mì chữ thập
7. Brownie (n) /ˈbraʊ.ni/: a small, square chocolate cake, often with nuts in it: bánh sô cô la
8. Tart (n) /tɑːt/: an open pastry case with a filling, usually of something sweet such as fruit: bánh nhân hoa quả

10. Cheesecake (n) /ˈtʃiːz.keɪk/: a cake made from a layer of biscuit, or a sweet pastry base, covered with soft cheese, eggs, sugar, and sometimes fruit: bánh phô mai
Example: lemon/almond cheesecake
11. Cracker (n) /ˈkræk.ər/: a thin, flat, hard biscuit, especially one eaten with cheese: bánh lạt
12. Chiffon (a) /ˈʃɪf.ɒn/: a very light cake made with vegetable oil, eggs, sugar, flour, baking powder, and flavorings: bánh có kết cấu bông xốp, mềm mượt

13. Bagel (n) /ˈbeɪ.ɡəl/: a type of bread that is small, hard, and in the shape of a ring: bánh mỳ vòng

16. Loaf (n) /ləʊf/: bread that is shaped and baked in a single piece and can be sliced for eating: bánh mì nhanh có dạng khối hình chữ nhật được làm trong loại khuôn riêng gọi là khuôn loaf

17. Croissant (n) /ˈkwæs.ɒ̃/: a piece of light crescent-shaped pastry, usually eaten in the morning: bánh sừng bò
18. Doughnut (n) (US donut) /ˈdəʊ.nʌt/: a small, circular cake, fried in hot fat, either with a hole in the middle or filled with jam: bánh ngọt rán hoặc nướng để ăn tráng miệng hoặc ăn vặt.

19. Muffin (n) /ˈmʌf.ɪn/: a small sweet cake that often has fruit inside it: bánh nướng xốp (chỉ để ăn sáng)

21. Pie (n) /paɪ/: a type of food made with meat, vegetables, or fruit covered in pastry and baked: bánh nướng

22. Pretzel (n) /ˈpret.səl/: a hard salty biscuit that has been baked in a stick or knot shape: bánh quy xoắn
Example: Don’t eat too many salty snacks like crisps or pretzels.
23. Cupcake (n) /ˈkʌp.keɪk/: a small cake with icing on top: bánh ga tô nướng trong cốc nhỏ
24. Waffle (n) /ˈwɒf.əl/: a type of bread or cake made from batter (= a thin mixture of milk, flour, and egg) cooked in a special pan whose surface forms a pattern of raised squares: bánh quế
