1. Raise your eyebrows = to show surprise by moving your eyebrows upwards: ngạc nhiên 
Example: He raised his eyebrows over some of the suggestions.
 
2. Raise your game = to make an effort to improve the way that you do something: nâng cao/cải thiện hơn 
Example: They’re going to have to raise their game if they want to stay in the Premiership this season.
 
3. Raise the alarm = to make people understand the danger of something: cảnh báo
Example: A local doctor was the first to raise the alarm about this latest virus.
 
4. Raise (sb’s) hopes / expectations = to make someone hope or expect that something will be very good or successful: tạo ra hi vọng
Example: It would be unfair to raise your hopes at this early stage.

5. You raise me up! bạn đã giúp tôi đứng dậy/trưởng thành
6. Raise a family: to have and bring up children: nuôi dưỡng gia đình
Example: She raised a family before she went to college
 
7. Raise your hand = hold one's hand in the air: giơ tay
Example: Don’t yell out the answers, raise your hands!
 
8. Raise your voice  = to speak in a loud angry way: nói to lên
Example: We told him not to raise his voice to our children.
