1. Clock out — /klɒk/ = clock off: to leave work, especially by recording the time you leave on a special machine: ghi giờ về (lúc tan sở)
2. Work double time (n) /ˌdʌb.əl ˈtaɪm/: work twice as long as normal: làm thời gian gấp đôi.
3. Graveyard shift (n) /ˈɡreɪv.jɑːd ˌʃɪft/: a period of work, for example in a factory, that begins late at night and ends early in the morning: ca đêm
Example: to work the graveyard shift
4. Home working (n) [ U ] doing paid work at home and not in a company's office or factory: làm việc tại nhà
Example: Flexible hours and home working are all consequences of technological change.
5. Job rotation (n) [ U ] a system of working in which employees work in a range of jobs in a company so that they have different types of work to do and understand the organization better: Luân chuyển công việc
Example: Job rotation can help employers by keeping employees from getting bored and looking for another job.
6. Job-share (v) /ˈdʒɒb.ʃeər/: to divide the duties and the pay of one job between two people who work at different times during the day or week: Việc Làm Chia Thời Gian .
7. Roster (n) /ˈrɒs.tər/: a list of people's names, often with the jobs they have been given to do: bảng phân công
Example: If you look on the duty roster, you'll see when you're working.
8. Time and a half (n) [ U ] /ˌtaɪm ənd ə ˈhɑːf/: the usual pay for a job with half the usual pay added on to it: lương làm ngoài giờ
9. Timesheet (n) /ˈtaɪm.ʃiːt/: a piece of paper on which an employee records the number of hours they have worked: bảng chấm công
10. Work long, regular, unsocial hours = used to describe how many hours in the day you work or what part of the day you work: giờ làm thêm
Example: She’s a nurse so she often works unsocial hours.
11. Work-life balance (n) /ˌwɜːk.laɪf ˈbæl.əns/: the amount of time you spend doing your job compared with the amount of time you spend with your family and doing things you enjoy: sự cân bằng công việc và cuộc sống
Example: It can be difficult to get the right work-life balance.
