Trong các bài nói IELTS SPEAKING, không phải lúc nào chúng mình cũng gặp được topic dễ, miêu tả tích cực, có lúc bạn sẽ gặp phải những topic nói về Problems về ai hoặc cái gì đó. Vậy nên việc nắm được các collocations cố định sẽ giúp bạn ngày càng có khả năng nói được câu dài, câu phức và các câu trôi chảy hơn nhiều. Ví dụ thay vì nói band 4 là a difficult problem nếu bạn nói cách nâng band với A THORNY PROBLEM thì câu nói của bạn sẽ mang sắc thái hình ảnh và thú vị hơn rất nhiều. Hay “thái độ lồi lõm” trong tiếng Việt mình hay nói thì tiếng Anh họ chỉ dùng cách nói đơn giản là Have an attitude problem
1. Have an attitude problem: có vấn đề về thái độ
Example: James has got a big attitude problem.
2. A weight problem: vấn đề cân nặng
Example: Alice is having a weight problem.
3. A drink problem: vấn đề bia rượu
Example: This book will give you enough insight to help you crack your drink problem.
4. Problem of homelessness: vấn đề vô gia cư
Example: The government is looking for new ways to deal with the problem of homelessness.
5. A thorny problem: vấn đề hóc búa
Example: A thorny problem is a difficult problem to which there is no obvious and easy solution.
6. The only problem with X: vấn đề duy nhất đối với
Example: The only problem with this car is it’s incredibly expensive.
7. A growing problem: vấn đề đang gia tăng
Example: Smoking seems a growing problem among teenage girls, in particular. Every year more and more are getting hooked.
8. A very serious problem: 1 vấn đề rất nghiêm trọng
Example: I’m afraid this is a very serious problem which requires prompt attention.
9. The basic problem: vấn đề cơ bản
Example: The basic problem is that he is famous for rubbing people up the wrong way!
10. Pressing problems: vấn đề cấp bách
Example: One of the most pressing problems facing cities today is traffic congestion.
11. An insurmountable problem: vấn đề không thể giải quyết được
Example: I believer that traffic congestion in large cities is an insurmountable problem.
12. A very complicated problem: một vấn đề rất phức tạp
Example: I wish there was a simple answer to this issue, but it’s a very complicated problem.
13. A fresh approach to the problem: 1 cách tiếp cận mới cho vấn đề
Example: I feel we need to take a fresh approach to the problem.
14. An overview of the problem: cái nhìn chung của vấn đề
Example: We need to take an overview of the problem. We need to consider all parts of it.
