Trong quá trình học tiếng Anh, chúng ta vẫn luôn phát hiện ra có những từ tưởng chừng hết sức đơn giản mà vẫn bị phát âm sai, do hồi bé học mình bị dạy sai hoặc cũng có thể do khi học chưa trả IPA (phiên âm quốc tế) kỹ chẳng hạn. Vậy nên khi gặp 1 từ phát âm sai hàng ngày bạn học cần tạo ngay 1 danh sách và take note sửa lại .
1. Envisage (v) /ɪnˈvɪz.ɪdʒ/: to imagine or expect something in the future, especially something good: mường tượng (định hoạch)
Example: It’s envisaged that building will start at the end of this year.
2. Tremendous (a) /trɪˈmen.dəs/: very great in amount or level, or extremely good: vô biên
Example: She’s been a tremendous (= very great) help to me over the last few months.
3. Mandatory (a) /ˈmæn.də.tər.i/: Something that is mandatory must be done, or is demanded by law: bắt buộc
Example: Athletes must undergo a mandatory drugs test before competing in the championship.
4. Seductive (a) /sɪˈdʌk.tɪv/: intended to seduce someone
Example: It was a seductive black evening dress.
5. Genre (n) /ˈʒɑ̃ː.rə/: a style, especially in the arts, that involves a particular set of characteristics: thể loại
Example: What genre does the book fall into - comedy or tragedy?
6. Horse (n) /hɔːs/: a large animal with four legs that people ride on or use for carrying things or pulling vehicles: con ngựa
Example: to ride a horse
7. Spacious (a) /ˈspeɪ.ʃəs/: large and with a lot of space: mênh mông
Example: a spacious house/living room
8. Perseverance (n) /ˌpɜː.sɪˈvɪə.rəns/: continued effort and determination
Example: Through hard work and perseverance, he worked his way up to the top.
