1. Bring off something—  /brɪŋ/: to succeed in doing something difficult: thành công
Example: Terry brought off the presentation without a hitch.
 
 
2. Pull off something—  /pʊl/: to succeed in doing something difficult or unexpected: cố gắng làm một điều gì đó khó khăn nhưng đã thành công.
Example: He won five straight games and pulled off one of the tournament’s biggest upsets.
 

3. Carry off something—  /ˈkær·i/: to succeed in doing or achieving something, esp. when this is difficult: thành công
Example: I wouldn’t dare wear anything that outrageous, but Michelle carried it off wonderfully.
 

4. Come off—  /kʌm/: to happen as planned or to succeed: thành công
Example: I thought the party came off really well.
 

5. Take off— /teɪk/: to suddenly start to be successful or popular: bắt đầu thành công/nổi tiếng
Example: Her singing career had just begun to take off.
 

6. Pay off—  /peɪ/: If something you have done pays off, it is successful: đáng với nỗ lực bỏ ra…
Example: All her hard work paid off in the end, and she finally passed the exam.
 

7. Sail through (sth)—   /seɪl/: to succeed very easily in something, especially a test: thuận buồm xuôi gió 
Example: Rachel sailed through her finals and got A's in everything.
 

8. Be/stay/keep one jump ahead = to do something before other people do it: luôn tiên phong…
Example: The way to be successful in business is always to stay one jump ahead of your competitors.
 

9. Build on sth —   /bɪld/: to use success or achievement as a base from which to achieve more success: được xây dựng dựa trên…
Example: A good relationship is built on trust.
 

10.Catch up—   /kætʃ/: to reach the same quality or standard as someone or something else: đuổi kịp…
Example: Will Western industry ever catch up with Japanese innovations?
 

11. Keep up   /kiːp/: to be able to understand or deal with something that is happening or changing very fast: tiếp tục nắm bắt…
Example: I read the papers to keep up with what's happening in the outside world.
 

12. Walk into sth /wɔːk/: to get a job very easily: lấy được công việc 1 cách dễ dàng 
Example: She walked straight into a well-paid job after graduating from university.
 

13. Catch on /kætʃ/: to become fashionable or popular: bắt đầu thịnh hành
Example: I wonder if the game will ever catch on with young people?
 

14. Capitalize on sth /ˈkæp.ɪ.təl.aɪz/: to use a situation to your own advantage: tận dụng
Example: She capitalized on her knowledge and experience to get a better job.
 

15. Take over  /teɪk/: to begin to have control of something: tiếp quản
Example: The firm was badly in need of restructuring when she took over.
 

16. Muddle through  /ˈmʌd.əl/: to manage to do something although you are not organized and do not know how to do it: làm một việc gì đó cho qua loa, không có kế hoạch cho việc mình làm.
Example: Sorry, but I can't help you - you'll just have to muddle through on your own.
 

17. Fall through /fɔːl/: to fail to happen: thất bại
Example: We found a buyer for our house, but then the sale fell through.
 

18. Lose out—   /luːz/: to not get something that you expected or wanted: đổ bể
Example: Pensioners will lose out not only from tax on pension funds but from the windfall tax.
