Từ BACK khi chúng mình học khi được dùng trong văn cảnh là danh từ sẽ được dịch là LƯNG hoặc Đằng sau. Từ BACK là 1 từ cực kì thú vị trong tiếng Anh, khi bạn nói xấu ai lập tức chúng mình có cụm TALK BEHIND SOMEONE’S BACK. Ngược lại khi bạn cố gắng hết sức để làm gì đó thì chúng mình có ngay cụm BEND OVER BACKWARDS… và còn vô số các cụm hay tuyệt vời khác mà BEC đã liệt kê bên dưới
know something like the back of your hand = to know a place very well: biết rõ tường tận
Example: She’ll give you the name of a place to stay – she knows the area like the back of her hand.
 
1. Talk behind someone's back = talking bad things indirectly about a person: nói xấu ai sau lưng.
Example: You shouldn't gossip about people behind their back(s).
 
 
2. You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours = used to tell someone that if they help you, you will help them
Example: The kids in that class have an "if you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours" attitude and cheat plentiful during examinations.
 
3. With one hand tied behind (one's) back = Easily or effortlessly; encountering no difficulty or resistance (while doing something): làm cái gì đó dễ ợt…
Example: I’m a professional musician, so that song is hardly a challenge—I could play it with one hand tied behind my back!
 
 
4. At/in the back of beyond = far from any town: nơi xa xôi hẻo lánh
Example: He's bought a ruined cottage at the back of beyond.
 
5. Through the back door = In a deceptive, corrupt, or indirect manner, especially in a way intended to reduce the visibility of an action: bí mật (hành vi dối trá)
Example: The school board is trying to rush this major change through the back door, and we need to fight them on it!
 
 
6. Stab someone in the back = to harm someone who trusts you: phản bội ai đó.
Example: A lot of people in this business think they have to stab each other in the back to succeed.
 
7. Put/get sb's back up = to annoy someone: làm ai đó bực
Example: Just ignore him - he's only trying to put your back up.
 
8. Bend over backwards = to try very hard to do something good or helpful: cố gắng hết sức để làm gì đó…
Example: Mann insisted that he bent over backwards to be objective in presenting the story.
