1. Imperfect (a) /ɪmˈpɜː.fekt/: damaged, containing problems, or not having something
Example: I explained as well as I was able, given my own imperfect understanding of the situation.
2. Defective (a) /dɪˈfek.tɪv/: Something that is defective has a fault in it and does not work correctly
Example: I think that theory is defective.
3. Faulty (a) /ˈfɒl.ti/: A faulty machine or device is not perfectly made or does not work correctly
Example: faulty wiring/brakes
4. Flawed (a) /flɔːd/: not perfect, or containing mistakes
Example: Diamonds are still valuable, even when they are flawed. / His argument is deeply flawed. / flawed beauty.
5. Shoddy (a) /ˈʃɒd.i/: badly and carelessly made, using low quality materials
Example: shoddy goods/ shoddy workmanship
6. Deficient (a) /dɪˈfɪʃ.ənt/: not having enough of
Example: A diet deficient in vitamin D may cause the disease rickets.
