3. LONGAN (n) /ˈlɒŋ.ɡən/: a tropical fruit similar to a lychee, with a brown shell and sweet, white flesh around a round, shiny, black seed, or the evergreen tree on which this fruit grows: nhãn
Example: Longan trees can be kept in bearing for many years.
4. PLUM (n) /plʌm/: a small, round fruit with a thin, smooth, red, purple, or yellow skin, sweet, soft flesh, and a single large, hard seed: quả mận
Example: a plum tree
5. PEACH (n) /piːtʃ/: a round fruit with sweet yellow flesh that has a lot of juice, a slightly furry red and yellow skin, and a large seed in its centre: quả đào
Example: Would you like peaches and cream for dessert?
6. DURIAN (n) /ˈdʒʊə.ri.ən/: a large, oval, tropical fruit with a hard skin covered in sharp points, yellow, orange, or red flesh, and a very strong smell - sầu riêng
Example: Lichee and durian fruit are newer flavors
7. JACKFRUIT (n) /ˈdʒæk.fruːt/: a very large fruit that grows on a tree that is common in South Asia and other tropical areas: quả mít
Example: Breadfruit and jackfruit are cultivated widely in the tropical Southeast Asia.
8. DRAGON FRUIT (n) /ˈdræɡ.ən ˌfruːt/: the fruit of a cactus (= a desert plant with thick stems for storing water) that has bright red or yellow skin and white or red flesh with many small black seeds: quả thanh long
Example: Dragon fruits are high in antioxidants and vitamins.
9. CUSTARD APPLE = SUGAR APPLE = large fleshy tropical fruit with a sweet yellow pulp: quả na
Example: Beyond the large back yard, the garden is filled with mango, banana, grapefruit, coconut, sugar apple, lime, orange, golden apple and soursop trees.
10. SOURSOP /ˈsou(ə)rˌsäp/ = a large acidic fruit with white fibrous flesh: quả mãng cầu xiêm
Example: Soursop is peeled and eaten raw.
11. TAMARIND (n) /ˈtæm.ər.ɪnd/: (fruit of) a type of tropical tree: me
Example: The tamarind and banyan are also noteworthy.
