I/ CUE CARD: 

Describe a restaurant that you know. You should say: 

  • Where it is 
  • How often you go there 
  • What kind of food they serve there 

and explain why you like to eat at this place. 

Sample Answer:

I'd like to talk about a resrtaurant I know well. That is PHO 2000, which is a small chain of noodle restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I go to its branch right next to Ben Thanh Market once or twice a week. This restaurant is well known since the former US president Bill Clinton stopped by for a bowl of soup in the year 2000. Interstingly, he was the first US president to visit Vietnam after American-Vietnam war. 

PHO 2000 is an improved version of a typical Vietnamese soup stall with proper chairs, tables and service, as well as a menu in English and Vietnamese. Westerner generally find it more convinient here than at most typical pho bars on the street corners of Saigon with their miniature plastic stools. 

In the morning before going to work, I like to eat at this restaurant for several reasons. Firstly, Pho is my favourite food. Secondly, here at PHO 2000, every bowl of noodle soup is prepared by experienced cooks: the broth is cooked with only the best ingredients to bring real natural flavouring to the PHO noodle soup. Lastly, the location has clean, pleasant and comfortable enviroment and all diners are quickly and professionally served. In a word, whenever I eat there, my expectation is consistently met and I always leave with complete satisfaction.
