1. Do you like to walk?
Answer 1: Sure, walking is my kind of thing. I actually try my best to arrange time to go for a leisurely stroll for at least one hour per day. There’s a beautiful park near my house which I often go to just simply to enjoy fresh air and do some gentle exercises, especially on a balmy day. It helps me relieve stress enormously and clear my head.
Answer 2: Yeah, certainly I do. Unfortunately, the roads in my area are not conducive ( = not suitable) for a pleasant walk. Having said that, I always take advantage of an opportunity to take a short walk for daily errands like buying some bits and bobs at the local markets and convenience stores.
2. Do you like to walk on your own or with others?
Well, as an extrovert, I would certainly prefer to wander aimlessly with my friends. You know, it’s a good opportunity to have a deep and meaningful conversation. You know, walking with others can turn exercise into an enjoyable social occasion. So, you will never feel tired at all even after 1 hour walking because time flies when we are having fun.
3. Would you say that your city is a good place for walking?
Unfortunately not / Sadly, not at all / Hanoi is now facing an alarming level of air pollution which it’s even extremely dangerous if you are outside for a long time. Also, the pavements are almost entirely taken up with motorbikes and street vendors so there’s literally nowhere to walk, except the parks.
4. Do people in your country walk a lot?
Not a bit / Hardly at all / Hardly ever. Like I mentioned previously (= As I briefly mentioned before) / Like I said before / Like I just said, with the severe air pollution, walking is definitely not an enjoyable option, especially in big cities. Most people also prefer to travel by motorbikes due to our narrowed roads and lack of space. Not to mention the scorching hot weather during summer.
5. Do you think walking is important?
Absolutely yes/ 100% / Without a doubt! It has been scientifically proven that walking is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health. Sadly, most people living a sedentary lifestyle don’t get benefits of regular exercise. But if you try to spend just 30 minutes walking a day, it can increase cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones and reduce excess body fat.
