At work or in your studies, do you often write things?
Yes, I write a lot of emails as part of my job on a daily basis. As a contracting executive, I have to write weekly reports with attention to detail after every hotel inspections. As well as this, I am also responsible for all emails from colleagues or providing contract-related information to all stakeholders.
How often do you send e-mails?
Well, I probably write between 5 and 9 work emails every day, discussing business, consulting as well as solving the problems. I feel like sending emails because I can trace the communication by mail list, which is much more useful and professional than telephone.
Do you like to write a letter or email?

= Do you prefer to write by hand or on a computer?
It really depends on who I am writing to. If the subject is work related then of course email is preferable, because the appropriate tone is a reserved and professional one. However, when writing to family members or friends, I much prefer to write letters by hand. This adds a personal element to the writing, and demonstrates a level of care and attention that is not possible to convey in an email.
Do you think emails are useful?
Of course/ Definitely/ Absolutely. Emails are a pretty fundamental part of functioning online in the 21st century. These days/ In this day and age, having an email address is just as useful, if not more so, than having a phone number. It is an essential method by which anyone can contact you.
What sorts of letters (or emails) do you think are the most difficult to write?
I think applying for jobs via email is especially difficult because it’s tricky to pitch the tone perfectly. On the one hand, it’s important to appear professional so formal language is a must. On the other hand, you need to make sure the person who reads your email is interested and intrigued but this is very difficult to achieve through a rather cold method of communication such as email.
Do you think emails might one day replace handwritten letters?
= Do you think computers might one day replace handwriting?
Well, emails have already made much of handwritten correspondence redundant. However to say that it will ever completely replace letters is I think unlikely. Handwritten letters still hold a special place in people’s hearts.There is a personal touch to letters that is impossible to replicate in digital communication. So I think handwritten letters will live on indefinitely.
