Bạn sẽ thấy câu trả lời của thầy Lawrence cũng như Ms. Trang Nguyen đều đưa ra các collocations hay idioms rất tự nhiên như TAKE A HIT (chịu mất mát) hay OUT OF THE BLUE (đột nhiên) hay COST AN ARM AND A LEG hay COST A SMALL FORTUNE đều có nghĩa là “đắt cắt cổ” hay STAND OUT với nghĩa nổi bật. Sau khi đưa ra luận điểm chúng ta luôn phải có ví dụ chứng minh từ thực tế hoặc từ bản thân để câu trả lời mang tính thuyết phục nhất)

1. As far as sb is concerned = in a particular person's opinion: Theo những gì tôi biết
Example: As far as I'm concerned, feng shui doesn't work.
 
2. Concrete (a) /ˈkɒŋ.kriːt/: clear and certain, or real and existing in a form that can be seen or felt: rõ ràng, hiển nhiên
Example: They think she killed her husband, but they have no concrete evidence.
 
3. Misplace (v) /ˌmɪsˈpleɪs/: to lose something temporarily by forgetting where you have put it: để không đúng chỗ 
Example: She misplaced her keys so often that her secretary used to carry spare ones for her. 
 
4. Take the hit (for someone or something) = To face punishment, blame, censure, or arrest for someone else's crime or misdeed: mất mát nặng
Example: We’ve made it look like he withdrew the money, so when the police start investigating, he'll be the one to take the hit.
 
5. Fork out sth  /fɔːk/: to pay an amount of money, especially unwillingly: phải trả rất nhiều tiền
Example: I forked out ten quid for/on the ticket.
 
6. Out of the blue:  If something happens out of the blue, it is completely unexpected: đột nhiên
Example: One day, out of the blue, she announced that she was leaving.
 
7. Cost (someone) an arm and a leg = to be very expensive: tốn rất nhiều tiền 
Example: The repair work cost an arm and a leg. 
 
8. Cost (sb) a fortune = to be very expensive: tốn rất nhiều tiền
Example: The court case will cost the company a fortune.
 
9. Extortionate (a) /ɪkˈstɔː.ʃən.ət/: extremely expensive: đắt cắt cổ
Example: The price of books nowadays is extortionate.
 
10. Likewise (adv) /ˈlaɪk.waɪz/: in the same way: tương tự như vậy
Example: Just water these plants twice a week, and likewise the ones in the bedroom.
 
11. Accidentally (adv) /ˌæk.sɪˈden.təl.i/: by chance or by mistake: chẳng may
Example: I accidentally knocked a glass over.
 
12. Concern (n) /kənˈsɜːn/: a worried or nervous feeling about something, or something that makes you feel worried: mối bận tâm
Example: Concern for the safety of the two missing teenagers is growing.
