1. Emulate (v) /ˈem.jə.leɪt/: to copy something achieved by someone else and try to do it as well as they have
Example: They hope to emulate the success of other software companies.
2. Imitate (v) /ˈɪm.ɪ.teɪt/: to behave in a similar way to someone or something else, or to copy the speech or behaviour, etc. of someone or something
Example: Some of the younger pop bands try to imitate their musical heroes from the past.
3. Mimic (v) /ˈmɪm.ɪk/: to copy the way in which a particular person usually speaks and moves, usually in order to make people laugh:
Example: She was mimicking the various people in our office.
4. Copy (v) /ˈkɒp.i/: to produce something so that it is the same as an original piece of work:
Example: They’ve copied the basic design from the Japanese model and added a few of their own refinements.
5. Follow (v) /ˈfɑl·oʊ/ to obey someone, or to act according to something:
Example: I decided to follow her advice.
6. Plagiarize (v) /ˈpleɪ.dʒər.aɪz/: to use another person's ideas or work and pretend that it is your own
Example: The book contains numerous plagiarized passages.
7. Forge (v) /fɔːdʒ/: to make an illegal copy of something in order to deceive
Example: a forged passport
8. Plagiarism (n) /ˈpleɪ.dʒər.ɪ.zəm/: the process or practice of using another person's ideas or work and pretending that it is your own: sự đạo văn
Example: She’s been accused of plagiarism.
