Topic part 2 của IELTS Speaking test mới toanh có yêu cầu bạn tả 1 nơi bị ô nhiễm mà bạn từng đến cũng như là đưa ra các giải pháp để giải quyết các vấn đề ô nhiễm này. Để làm tốt topic này nhất, việc có ý tưởng (ideas) để tả về nơi ô nhiễm đó, bạn phải chú ý đến tả bầu trời (grey sky) - bầu trời xám xịt do sương khói ô nhiễm dày đặc, hay level of pollution - lượng ô nhiễm như thế nào, hay việc thải rác vô độ (excess of garbage) như thế nào sẽ giúp mem có thể tả được topic của mình thật tốt nhất.
1. Contaminated (a) /kənˈtæm.ɪ.neɪ.tɪd/: poisonous or not pure: bị nhiễm bẩn
Example: water contaminated with sewage
2. Thick air pollution: ô nhiễm không khí dày đặc
Example: I remembered it being plagued with thick air pollution.
3. Unbearable heavy traffic: lượng giao thông không thể nào mà chịu đựng nổi
Example: The heat was unbearable.
4. Sand storm (n) /ˈsænd.stɔːm/: a strong wind in a desert carrying a large amount of sand: bão cát
Example: Occasional sand storms
5. Poisonous (a) /ˈpɔɪ.zən.əs/: very harmful and able to cause illness or death: độc hại
Example: poisonous chemicals
6. Hazardous waste (a) /ˈhæz.ə.dəs/: dangerous: chất thải độc hại, nguy hiểm
Example: a hazardous journey/occupation
7. Ozone depletion (n) /dɪˈpliː.ʃən/: a reduction in something: tỉnh trạng suy giảm tầng ozone
Example: the depletion of the ozone layer
8. Excessive dumping of garbage (n) /ˈɡɑː.bɪdʒ/: waste material or unwanted things that you throw away: sự xả rác vô độ
9. Rapid industrialisation (n) /ɪnˌdʌs.tri.ə.laɪˈzeɪ.ʃən/: the process of developing industries in a country: công nghiệp hoá nhanh chóng
10. Modernisation (n) /ˌmɒd.ən.aɪˈzeɪ.ʃən/: the act of making something more modern: hiện đại hoá
Example: The modernisation of the 100-year-old sewage and water systems will cost millions of pounds.
11. Integrated solutions (a) /ˈɪn.tɪ.ɡreɪ.tɪd/: consisting of different groups of people who mix, live, or work well together: các phương pháp hợp nhất
Example: a racially integrated school system
