1. Full of yourself = thinking that you are very important in a way that annoys other people: tự phụ, kiêu ngạo.
Example: I doubt he even thought about what you might need, he’s so full of himself.
2. Bigheaded (a) /ˌbɪɡˈhed.ɪd/: thinking that you are more important or more intelligent than you really are: ngạo mạn
Example: She’s so bigheaded!
3. Conceited (a) /kənˈsiː.tɪd/: too proud of yourself and your actions and abilities
Example: Without wishing to sound
4. Arrogant (a) /ˈær.ə.ɡənt/: unpleasantly proud and behavin
Example: I found him arrogant and rude.
5. Cocky (a) /ˈkɒk.i/: used to describe a young person who is confident in a way that is unpleasant and sometimes rude: tự phụ, vênh váo
Example: He’s a bit cocky for my liking.
6. Immodest (a) /ɪˈmɒd.ɪst/: having too high an opinion of yourself: tự cao, tự đại
Example: He makes these immodest statements of his own brilliance.
7. Boast about yourself (v) /bəʊst/: to speak too proudly or happil
Example: Parents enjoy boasting about t
8. Blow your own trumpet/horn = khoe khoang về điều gì (thổi kèn khen lấy)to tell everyone proudly
Example: I hate people who are always blowing their own trumpet.
9. Brag about yourself (v) /bræɡ/: to speak too proudly about what you have done or what you own: khoe khoang
Example: She's always bragging about how much money she earns.
10. Toot one's own horn = to talk about oneself or one's achievements especially in a way that shows pride or too much pride: khoe khoang về điều gì (thổi kèn khen lấy)
Example: We've had a very successful year, and I think we have a right to toot our own horn a little.
11. Show off — /ʃəʊ/: to behave in a way that is intended to attract attenti
Example: He's always showing off to his classmates.
12. Know-it-all (n) /ˈnəʊ.ɪt.ɔːl/: (UK also know-all) = a person who thinks that they know much more than other people: Làm như biết mọi việc
Example: I didn't like her at first because she seemed to be a know-it-all, she rolled her eyes at me a lot whenever I was trying to be funny.
13. Self-important (a) /ˌself.ɪmˈpɔː.tənt/: believing that you are more important or have a higher value than other people
Example: He never comes across as pompous or self-important.
14. Self-centred (a) /ˌselfˈsen.təd/: only interested in yourself and your own activities: tự cho mình là trung tâm
Example: Robert is a self-centred, ambitious, and bigoted man.
