Respect là 1 từ cực hay trong tiếng anh vừa là động từ cũng là danh từ thể hiện sự tôn trọng/ ngưỡng mộ ai đó, luôn mang 1 sắc thái cực lịch sự. Đặc biệt cũng là 1 trong những nguyên tắc ứng xử quan trọng mà team bec luôn giúp các bạn học sinh hiểu được tầm quan trọng của treat people with kindess and respect - luôn đối xử mọi người với lòng tử tế và tôn trọng đó ạ. Ngoài ả chúng mình còn nhiều vô số cụm hay bên dưới.
1. Treat sb with respect: đối xử với mọi người tôn trọng
Example: He always knows how to treat people with respect and kindness.
2. Earn/gain respect of sb /rɪˈspekt/: có được sự kính trọng của ai
Example: New teachers have to earn/gain the respect of their students.
3. Lose sb’s respect: mất sự tôn trọng
Example: He lost my respect for being arrogant.
4. Respect yourself = to be proud of your own qualities or achievements: tôn trọng bản thân
Example: You should always respect yourself.
5. Respect sb for sth /rɪˈspekt/= admire: ngưỡng mộ ai
Example: I deeply respect David for what he has achieved.
6. Respect sb's wishes = to do what someone has asked to have done: kính trọng ước nguyện cuối
Example: His children respected his last wishes and held a simple funeral for him.
7. In this respect/in many respects: trong sự tôn trọng
Example: The children are not unintelligent–in fact, they seem quite normal in this respect.
8. With (all due) respect = with (the greatest) respect = used to express polite disagreement in a formal situation: với tất cả sự kính trọng
Example: With all due respect, sir, I cannot agree with your last statement.
9. Sb's respects = polite formal greetings: gửi lời chào
Example: Please convey/give my respects to your parents.
10. In respect of = with respect to = in connection with something: về vấn đề…
Example: Legislation will be introduced in respect of the proposals in the finance bill.
11. Respectful (a) /rɪˈspekt·fəl/: tôn trọng
Example: The protestors were respectful and polite.
