1. But (conjunction) /bʌt/: used to introduce an added statemen
Example: She’s very hard-working but not very imaginative.
2. Although (conjunction) /ɔːlˈðəʊ/: but: tuy vậy
Example: He’s rather shy, although he's not as bad as he used to be.
3. However (adv) /ˌhaʊˈev.ər/: tuy nhiên
Example: There may, however, be other reasons that we don't know about.
4. And yet: nhưng
Example: She got 11 cats, 3 dogs and a rabbit, and yet she wants more pets.
5. Even so = despite what has just been said: thậm chí vậy
Example: I had a terrible headache, but even so I went to the concert.
6. Nevertheless (adv) /ˌnev.ə.ðəˈles/: despite what has just been said or referred to: tuy nhiên
Example: I knew a lot about the subject already, but her talk was interesting
7. Nonetheless (adv) /ˌnʌn.ðəˈles/: despite what has just been said or done: tuy vậy
Example: There are serious problems in our co
8. Despite (preposition) /dɪˈspaɪt/: without taking any notice of or being influenced by; not prevented by: bất chấp
Example: I still enjoyed the week despite the weather.
9. But having said that = despite what has just been said: tuy vậy
Example: He forgets most things, but having said that, he always remembers my birthday.
