Từ DAY (ngày) cực đơn giản nhưng có vô vàn thành ngữ và cụm từ đi kèm cực thú vị, giúp mem nói tự nhiên và đạt được điểm cao tuyệt đối cho các bài thi IELTS Speaking.
1. Tomorrow is another day = said to mean that, although you have just had a bad experience, you are confident or hopeful that your life will be much better in the future: ngày mai lại là 1 ngày mới
Example: Everything went wrong. I didn't play well. However, tomorrow is another day.
2. Make someone's day = make an otherwise ordinary or dull day pleasingly memorable for someone: bạn làm cho ngày của tôi tốt hơn.
Example: OMG, you made my day honey!
3. Don’t give up your day job! = đừng từ bỏ công việc hàng ngày (khuyên ai nên tiếp tục công việc đã từng làm hoặc hiện tại đang làm hơn là tìm 1 việc mới mà khả năng họ có thể dễ thất bại)
4. Day in day out = (especially of something boring) done or happening every day for a long period of time: hàng ngày Example: I have to do the same boring jobs day in day out.
5. Day and night = all the time: suốt mọi lúc
Example: The noise is awful – you can hear the traffic day and night.
6. Day by day = gradually over many days: ngày qua ngày
Example: Day by day my father grew stronger.
7. Back in the day = used for talking about a time in the past, usually when you are remembering nice things about that time: hồi xưa
Example: Back in the day, we had an apartment with a swimming pool.
8. Day care (n) /ˈdeɪ ˌkeər/: care or education provided
Example: It’s so expensive to have two children in day care.
9. Save/keep money for a rainy day= to save money for a time when it might be needed unexpectedly: tiết kiệm tiền cho những ngày khó khăn
Example: Luckily she had saved some money for a rainy day.
10. Live to fight another day = to have another chance to fight in a competition; to be able to continue with your
Example: We didn't win this time, but we live to fight another day.
11. Every dog has its day = said to emphasize that everyone is successful or happy at some time in their life: ai cũng có những lúc khó khăn
Example: 'There comes a time to stop, every dog has its day, and I think I have had mine. '
12. Call it a day = to stop what you are doing because you do not want to do any more or think you have done enough: cứ coi như đã kết thúc 1 ngày

Example: You can't afford to run businesses
15. Forever and a day = a very long time or for a very long time: Bất diệt/vĩnh viễn, luôn luôn và liên tục mãi.
Example: They take forever and a day to get anything done.
16. The good old days = If you talk about the good old days, you mean a time in the past when you believe life was better: những ngày tươi đẹp
Example: I wish my grandma would stop
17. Rome wasn't built in a day = said to emphasize that you cannot expect to do important things in a short period of time: thành Rome không được xây dựng trong 1 ngày (ý hãy kiên nhẫn)
