INFLUENCE là 1 từ thú vị trong tiếng Anh có cấu tạo động từ và danh từ đều như nhau. Nay IELTS Trangbec sẽ giới thiệu với các bạn về các collocations đi với danh từ INFLUENCE trước. Từ này sẽ đồng nghĩa với IMPACT hay EFFECT, thay vì dùng một từ đơn lẻ, các bạn hãy cố gắng dùng theo cụm danh từ cho thật tốt như HAVE A PROFOUND/POWERFUL INFLUENCE ON… (có sức ảnh hưởng mạnh mẽ lên..) thì sẽ khiến cho câu nói của mình có màu sắc hơn nhiều và cũng đạt được điểm cao hơn.
1. Have a very calming influence on X: có ảnh hưởng xoa dịu lên
Example: Our youngest son, Harry, can get very excited and a little wild at times, but his sister has a very calming influence on him.
2. Have a more positive influence on Y: có nhiều ảnh hưởng tích cực lên
Example: Will’s a bit depressed at the moment. I think he needs to mix with people who will have a more positive influence on his life.
3. Have a profound influence on: có sức ảnh hưởng mạnh mẽ lên
Example: Of all the teachers, I had at school, at sticks in my mind. He was amazing! He had a profound influence on everyone he taught.
4. Have a powerful influence on X: có sức ảnh hưởng mạnh mẽ lên X
Example: The media has a powerful influence on public opinion.
5. Exert considerable influence: dùng sự ảnh hưởng đáng kể
Example: The Royal Family still exerts considerable influence.
6. Have a corrupting influence on X: có sự ảnh hưởng xấu lên
Example: Our mother didn’t let us watch television when we were children. She believed it would have a corrupting influence on us.
7. Have a disruptive influence on X: có ảnh hưởng gây xao nhãng lên
Example: I find it hard to teach when your daughter is in class. She has a disruptive influence on the rest of the students. Perhaps she should see someone about her behavior.
8. Escape the persuading influence of: thoát khỏi sự ảnh hưởng mang tính thuyết phục của
Example: Today you can’t escape the persuading influence of television. It’s everywhere.
9. Exert undue influence on: dùng sức ảnh hưởng thái quá
Example: International observers accused local politicians of interfering with the election by exerting undue influence on voters.
10. Free from outside influence: không bị ảnh hưởng bởi yếu tố bên ngoài
Example: I think that decision-making in our hospitals and schools should be free from outside influence.
