Từ UNREALISTIC được dùng rất nhiều trong giao tiếp hàng ngày hàm ý nói 1 ai đó hay 1 kế hoạch nào đó viển vông thì chúng mình hay chỉ nghĩ đến “unrealistic” mà thực tế chúng mình còn rất nhiều cụm hay và cả idioms hay như LIVE IN CLOUD CUCKOO LAND:
1. Unrealistic (a) /ˌʌn.rɪəˈlɪs.tɪk/: having a wrong idea of what is likely to happen or of what you can really do; not based on facts:
Example: It’s unrealistic to expect an answer before next week.
2. Unfeasible (a) /ʌnˈfiː.zə.bəl/: (also infeasible): not feasible (= able to be done or achieved) - không khả thi
Example: The weather made it unfeasible to be outdoors.
3. Live/be in cloud cuckoo land = to think that things that are completely impossible might happen, rather than understanding how things really are: viển vông, ảo tưởng
Example: When referees make contentious decisions players are going to be upset, and anyone who thinks otherwise is living in cloud cuckoo land.
4. Impracticable (a) /ɪmˈpræk.tɪ.kə.bəl/: If a course of action, plan, etc. is impracticable, it is impossible to do in an effective way - không thực tế
Example: The changes to the tax system proved impracticable as they were impossible to enforce.
5. Unworkable (a) /ʌnˈwɜː.kə.bəl/: An unworkable plan is not practical or cannot really be done successfully
Example: To be honest, I think the plan is completely unworkable.
6. Unreasonable (a) /ʌnˈriː.zən.ə.bəl/: not fair or acceptable - không hợp lý
Example: It seems unreasonable to expect one person to do both jobs.
7. Unachievable (a) /ˌʌn.əˈtʃiː.və.bəl/: An unachievable task, ambition, etc. is one that is impossible to achieve: không thể đạt được
Example: Cheap, pesticide-free food is probably an unachievable objective.
