1. Storytelling (n) /ˈstɔː.riˌtel.ɪŋ/: the activity of writing, telling, or reading stories: kể chuyện
Example: The celebration will include dance, song, and storytelling.
2. Storyteller (n) /ˈstɔː.riˌtel.ər/: a person who writes or tells stories, or reads them aloud: người kể
Example: My grandmother was a pretty good storyteller.
3. Storyline (n) /ˈstɔː.ri.laɪn/: (in a book, film, play, etc.) the plot (= the series of events that happen in it) - cốt chuyện
4. True-life story (n) /ˌtruː.laɪf ˈstɔː.ri/: a story that is based on real rather than imaginary events: câu chuyện có thật
5. Long story short = used when you do not tell all the details: nói tóm gọn lại thì
Example: Long story short, I got fired.
6. So the story goes : It is being said or rumored that this is the case, whether or not it is true: chuyện kể rằng….
Example: After filing for bankruptcy, the CEO fled the country and lives as a farmer in Tibet—so the story goes, anyway.
7. It's the same old story = said when talking about a bad situation that has happened many times before: vẫn là những câu chuyện cũ
Example: It’s the same old story - the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
