I. VOCABULARY 
 
1. An angler /ˈæŋ.ɡlər/: a person whose hobby is trying to catch fish with a rod and line: người câu cá
Example: I am an angler = i am an amateur fisherman.
 
 
2. Fisherman (n) /ˈfɪʃ.ə.mən/: someone who catches fish, especially as a job: ngư dân 
 
 
3. Angling /ˈæŋ.ɡlɪŋ/: the sport of trying to catch fish with a rod, line (= plastic thread), and hook (= curved piece of wire): môn câu cá
 
 
 
II. REASONS PEOPLE GO FISHING:
 
Các lý do mọi người đi đánh cá chia ra làm 2 kiểu người, kiểu là 1 người là thích câu cá, kiểu 2 là ngư dân (họ sống bằng nghề này). Dù là lí do gì thì chúng mình cũng học kỹ các cụm IELTS Trangbec đã liệt kê bên dưới nhé:
 
1. Kick back/kɪk/: to stop doing things and relax: thư giãn
Example: What good is life if a guy can’t kick back and watch a good movie?

 
2. Chill out /tʃɪl/: to relax completely, or not allow things to upset you: thư giãn
Example: I’m just chilling out in front of the TV.
 
 
3. Take a load off their mind = to relax = relieve one of a source of stress or worry: thư giãn, nghỉ ngơi
Example: Thanks for explaining what you meant by your comments yesterday. That takes a load off my mind.

 
4. Find peace of mind: tìm sự yên bình trong tâm trí, tâm hồnPeace of mind = a mental state of calmness or tranquility, a freedom from worry and anxiety.
Example: Yoga and relaxation techniques help the usually stressed woman find peace of mind

 
5. Disconnect/escape from the boring day-to-day routine: thoát khỏi lịch trình hàng ngày nhàm chán, tẻ nhạt

 
6. Pass the time = to do something to keep busy while waiting: giết thời gian
Example: We passed the time in the airport playing cards.

 
7. Kill time = If you kill time or have time to kill, you do something while you are waiting for something else to happen: giết thời gian
Example: I had a couple of hours to kill before dinner.

 
8. Get close to nature: gần gũi với thiên nhiênExample: it’s a great way to get close to nature

 
For commercial fishermen = professionals: đối với người dân đánh cá thì việc GO FISHING còn là cần câu cơm của họ nữa: 

1. It’s their livelihood: (the way someone earns) the money people need to pay for food, a place to live, clothing, etc.: cần câu cơm
Example: That farm is his livelihood.
 
 
2. It’s their bread and butter = main source of income (cần câu cơm)your bread and butter = a job or activity that provides you with the money you need to live
Example: Gardening is my bread and butter right now.
 
 
3. Earn a living = to be paid the money that you need to live on: kiếm sống
Example: He earns a living as a self-employed consultant. / do for a living: kiếm số
