1. Bank on sb/sth /bæŋk/: to expect something or depend on something happening: tín nhiệm một ai đó hoặc tin tưởng vào việc gì đó
Example: Can I bank on your support?
2. Brush up (on) sth /brʌʃ/: to improve your knowledge of something already learned but partly for gotten: trau dồi
Example: I thought I'd brush up (on) my French before going to Paris.
3. Buckle down /ˈbʌk.əl/: to start working hard: bắt đầu học chăm chỉ
Example: He’ll have to buckle down (to his work) soon if he wants to pass his finals.
4. Bump into sb /bʌmp/: to meet someone you know when you have not planned to meet them : tình cờ gặp ai
Example: We bumped into Amy when we were in town last week.
5. Come in for sth /kʌm/: to receive blame or criticism: hứng chịu
Example: The director has come in for a lot of criticism over his handling of the affair.

Example: If they know the cause of the problem, they might be able to figure out how to prevent it happening again.
7. Get around/round to sth /ɡet/: to do something that you have intended to do for a long time: làm gì đã có ý định từ lâu
Example: I still haven't got around to fixing that tap.
8. Get away with sth /ɡet/: to succeed in avoiding punishm ent for something: trốn thoát
Example: If I thought I could get away with it, I wouldn't pay my taxes at all.
9. Knuckle down /ˈnʌk.əl/: to start working or studying hard: bắt đầu học chăm chỉ
Example: You’re going to have to really knuckle down (to your work) if you want to pass your final ex ams.
10. Look up to sb /lʊk/: to admire and respect someone: ngưỡng mộ
Example: He’d always looked up to his uncle.
11. Look down on sb /lʊk/: to think that you are better than someone: khinh ai
Example: She thinks they look down on her because she doesn't have a job.
12. Mull sth over /mʌl/: to think carefully about something for a long time: suy nghĩ kĩ
Example: I need a few days to mull things over before I decide if I'm taking the job.
13. Pan out /pæn/: to develop in a particular way or in a successful way: (có) kết quả tốt/cụ thể
Example: We’ll have to see how things pan out.
