Xu thế các bài thi nói IELTS SPEAKING ngày càng hỏi về trải nghiệm nhiều hơn, chứ không hỏi bạn quá nhiều về mô tả đồ vật, sự vật thông thường nữa. Vậy nên việc nắm được các cụm từ - collocations và Idioms (thành ngữ) là điều bắt buộc bạn phải học thuộc và dùng từ cho đúng văn cảnh. Nay IELTS Trangbec đã liệt kê trước các IDIOMS tích cực chỉ sự “hứng khởi” và “bạn cực ấn tượng bởi cái gì đó” như bên dưới:
 
1. Be raring to do sth = to be very enthusiastic about starting something: sẵn sàng làm gì (1 cách hứng khởi)
Example: I had been preparing for the exam for a year and now I was raring to go (= eager to start).
 
 
2. On the edge of your seat = very excited, and giving all your attention to something, because you want to know what is going to happen: cực phấn khích
Example: The excitement of the finale had you on the edge of your seat. 
 
 
3. Bounce off the walls = to be too excited and have a lot of energy: rất hào hứng, phấn chấn, tràn đầy năng lượng.
Example: The kids are bouncing off the walls.
 
 
4. Blow your mind = to find something very exciting and unusual: thực sự ấn tượng bởi…
Example: The concert was so good, it blew my mind.
 
 
5. Blow sb away —   /bləʊ/: to surprise or please someone very much: thực sự choáng ngợp bởi…
Example: The ending will blow you away.
 
 
6. Eye-opening (a) /ˈaɪˌəʊ.pən.ɪŋ/: surprising, and teaching you new facts about life, people, etc.: mở mang tầm mắt…
Example: Viewing the battle scene up close is an eye-opening experience.
 
 
7. Bowl over = To thoroughly shock, impress, or overwhelm. A noun or pronoun can be used between "bowl" and “over.”: kinh ngạc bởi cái gì..
Example: I was bowled over by his knowledge (= I was very impressed). 
Example: My daughter was totally bowled over when her boyfriend returned from his business trip early and showed up at her birthday party.
