I. ... AS... AS...
 
1. (as) easy as pie/ABC = extremely easy = a piece of cake: dễ ợt
Example: After so many years as an accountant, doing taxes is as easy as pie for me.
 
 
2. (as) clear as mud = very difficult to understand: cực khó hiểu 
Example: His instructions were as clear as mud.
 
 
3. as dry as a bone =  bone dry = extremely dry: cực khô 
Example: I don't think he's been watering these plants - the soil is as dry as a bone.
 
 
4. (as) clear as a bell = very easy to hear: nghe rõ mồn một
Example: Clear as a bell, from the back of the theatre came a child's voice saying, "I want to go home".
 
 
5. (as) white as a sheet = If someone is (as) white as a sheet, their face is very pale, usually because of illness, shock, or fear
Example: When I saw him his face was as white as a sheet and he was crying.
 

II. ... LIKE... 
 
1. Fight like cats and dogs = to have angry arguments all the time: cãi nhau như chó với mèo 
Example: As kids we used to fight like cat and dog.
 
 
2. Eat like a horse = to always eat a lot of food: ăn rất nhiều
Example: She’s so thin, yet she eats like a horse.
 
 
3. Drink like a fish = to drink too much alcohol: uống rượu rất nhiều 
Example: At any party that he goes, he drinks like a fish.
 
 
4. Like a boss = used to say that someone does something very well: làm cái gì đó rất tốt
Example: I’m going to teach you to draw like a boss.
 
5. Like a thief in the night = secretly or unexpectedly and without being seen: lén lút…
Example: It will come upon us like a thief in the night.
